Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar
Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar is an accomplished dental professional with a diverse range of expertise in the field of prosthodontics. He holds a BDS degree from SCB Dental College and Hospital, Utkal University and an MDS degree from AIIMS, New Delhi. Since September 2021, he has been serving as the Principal of Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS) at KIIT Deemed to be University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar has made significant contributions to the field of prosthodontics through his extensive research and clinical work. He has published over 20 national and international papers and has authored a chapter in a book published by Intechopen, London. His research interests primarily revolve around maxillofacial rehabilitation, materials research, and stem cell research.
Throughout his career, Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar has been actively involved in academic and professional associations. He served as the President of the Indian Prosthodontic Society, Odisha State Branch from 2019 to 2020. He has also been recognized for his contributions and has received several awards and honors. Notably, he was selected as one of the two Indians to attend the Young Prosthodontic Educator’s workshop in Germany, organized by the International College of Prosthodontics (ICP), USA.
In addition to his academic and research endeavors, Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar has been involved in collaborative research projects with various universities and schools, including the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, the University of Toronto in Canada, the University of Genoa in Italy, and the Academy of Advanced Dental Training in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar has a strong background in education and has held positions as a Junior Resident at AIIMS, New Delhi, a Senior Lecturer at I.T.S. Centre for Dental Studies and Research in Ghaziabad, and a Reader at both I.T.S. Centre for Dental Studies and Research and Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences. He is currently a Professor and Principal at Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences.
With his extensive knowledge, research contributions, and leadership roles, Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar has emerged as a respected figure in the field of prosthodontics. His dedication to advancing dental education, research, and patient care has made a significant impact in the field.
